MILES CITY, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will rehabilitate six large culverts over about 46 miles of Interstate 94 (I-94), around Miles City. The project begins about 24 miles west of Miles City, and extends east, ending about 22 miles east of Miles City.

Proposed work will rehabilitate six large culverts that have signs of aging and are in need of localized repairs. The purpose of this project is to protect the integrity of the I-94 corridor to extend the service life of the roadway.

Construction is tentatively planned beyond MDT's 5-year planning horizon but has the potential to begin earlier depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.

Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Glendive office, PO Box 890, Glendive, MT 59330-0890. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10525000.

The public is encouraged to contact Glendive District Preconstruction Engineer Jim Frank at 406-345-8214 or Project Design Engineer Steve Heidner at 406-345-8247 with questions or comments about the project.
